The Indra Smart PRO has the excellent Kaluza app, solar integration, and a BOOST button that overrides any schedules and charge settings for max power. The EO Smart Home app allows you to monitor and manage your charging sessions as well as setting a charging schedule, all set up to ensure you get the best charging solution for your electric vehicle. The EO Smart Home App is simple to use and displays all important data, like energy use, charge duration and current session time on one screen. The main screen presents a synopsis of your settings and tells you whether your vehicle is charging. When your vehicle is connected, it displays the charge state, charging rate, energy supplied and the state of charge.
A key thing to consider before installing the EO Mini Pro, is that it has no O-PEN protection built in. This protection is what would shut down the EO charger if it detected that the earth was faulty or missing when coming into the property. This is imperative that you have some form of protection as the car body could become live if there was a fault with the EO Mini Pro and the earth was missing or not working properly.The EO Mini Pro 2 charges at speeds up to 7.2KW. Annoyingly, you can’t set the charge rate in the EO app; your EO Approved Installer does this during installation. One workaround with the need for a Garo earthing device is to have the charger installed in a garage and only charge indoors. This way, the EO Mini Pro 2 will use the house earthing and not need a separate earthing device. However, you will only be able to charge indoors – charging outside with this setup is dangerous.
Installation takes around four hours and is relatively straightforward. The EO Mini Pro 2 requires a dedicated 30mA Type A RCD on the supply circuit and has integral 6mA DC leakage detection, so no Type B RCD is required. At the time of writing the EO mini pro 2 is the smallest smart electric vehicle charger on the market. At just 175mm x 125mm x 125mm this modern styled, square can fit discreetly on any home or office. Concerns over durability due to the size are unwarranted – this charger is a robust piece of kit. The case is made from ABS (UL94 HB Fire Rated), and it has IP54 protection, so it’s protected from water spray in any direction. The EO Mini Pro 2 has an LED indicator for faults. For example, two short red flashes mean there is no earth connection, and four short red flashes mean the Live and Neutral conductors are reversed. The LED indicators are useful for testing, although an electrician will use their own equipment to test the charger. Mini Pro 3 automatically adjusts the output of your charger alongside other energy hungry home appliances.The circuit board inside the EO Mini Pro has a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) that acts as the computer with a separate control board for power control. Both are capable of receiving firmware updates automatically. EO Mini Pro 2 design A charge point with Smart Control enables your energy provider access to manage your car charge while simultaneously managing grid demand, so as to minimise network disruption and keep your costs low.
However, in 2020 they launched their first EO Mini home charger and entered the home market. Since then, they have become a competitive home EV charging solution. It's easy to install - no need for earth rods (built-in PME, power install options available through the rear of the enclosure or at the base) The EO mini is available in both tethered option and untethered where you can use the cable from your car. The tethered option comes with a 5m long cable for charging. While the unit does weigh between 3kg–4.5kg, depending on your model, for a home charger, this is still pretty decent.

Even though the EO Mini Pro is one of the smallest EV chargers , it’s still extremely durable and robust. Any concerns people have about the EO Mini Pro size and maybe being fragile are unwarranted. It has IP54 protection and the casing is made of ABS which is the same as many other charging points. Session details are stored in the cloud, letting you view charging sessions at all times whether the vehicle is plugged in or not. We received the untethered version for our review, which isn’t as convenient but has the same features as the tethered version, bar the built-in cable. Some EV chargers offer energy management systems that allow you to charge your vehicle using only the green energy generated by your solar panels, or a mix of green and grid energy. For example, Wallbox provides Eco-Smart solar EV charging as a feature in their Pulsar Max and Copper SB models. This capability lets you choose between fully green or mixed charging modes, depending on your energy production and consumption at home. The optional solar charging feature is worth having if you have solar panels because it lets you charge your EV exclusively with solar power. With a small solar panel setup, you should be able to draw around 3.6kW or up to 7kW with a larger solar installation.
Smaller than a piece of A5 paper and equipped with simple LED status lights, the EO Mini Pro 2 is the most inconspicuous EV home charger on the market. It’s reliable, well-made, simple to use and gets the job done. However, solar is optional, the app is average, and installation requires an earthing device.EO Charging are a British company who provide charging solutions for EV fleets. EO were mostly known for their corporate use partnerships since launching in 2014. If you don’t have the patience then dial up the charging capacity of the Mini Pro 3 to 22kW. Always connected.
